Art FAQ

DEFINITIONS |
||
| A/P | An "Artist's Proof" is the same as a regular
print except it has been personally checked in detail by the artist for colour
accuracy and consistency. Usually every tenth print
in an edition is personally checked by the artist, which
is the reason why there are fewer of them and why they are more
valuable. Artist's Proof's are also Signed and Numbered (see S/N).

| Giclée
Print
|
Giclée (pronounced zhee-klay) means
"to spray" in French. A giclée print is produced from a
high-resolution digital image of the original artwork and printed onto
fine art paper using archival-quality inkjet methods. A giclée
print has a higher resolution and broader colour range than other
traditional methods such as lithography.
A liquid
laminate is then applied for enhanced protection.
|
|
| S/N | "Signed and Numbered" indicates the individual print has been
personally autographed by the artist. The number on a print
identifies the specific print and the edition size. For example,
"4/350" means that it is the fourth print in a limited edition size
of 350. No more than 350 prints will be created.
|
|
| Limited Edition | A set of prints that is limited in
number. For example, a limited edition size of 350 will have 350 S/N prints available, plus 35 A/P. No more would be
created.
