Been a Busy While :)

Been a long time since I have brought the Blog up to speed but will attempt that now. So much has transpired since last September.

I had been busy working on a commission, and usually I put the stages of the commissions on line ( and not say who the client is ), but in this case I couldn’t as the people had sold their property and since they had so many fond memories there, the wife had engaged me to do a painting as a surprise for her husband at Christmas, and he follows my work. He prob would have known it was his place from the charcoal sketch on the bare canvas, so I waited till after he had received it ( and he was very happy). I posted the different stages of this piece on my instagram site. https://instagram.com/lyndencowan

The title for the finished piece is “Our View of Surprise Lake”, 16 x 20 inches , oil on canvas, and shows the view from their kitchen window, with the boathouse, rock garden, whiskey jack at the birdbath, and where they enjoyed many campfires over on the right hand side. Great to preserve memories.

Just recently I completed a painting titled “Fishing”, which is from the Mono Mills Provincial Park area, and refers to the Kingfisher waiting patiently on the side for his next meal to appear.

This painting has made its debut juried into the exhibition with the prestigious Federation of Canadian Artists , held at the Art of Emotions gallery at 318 Oakwood Ave, Toronto, until April 16th. Here you can enjoy all the artwork virtually strolling through the gallery, or go and visit in person https://fcatoronto.us4.list-manage.com/track/click...

Just finished an exhibition at the Helson Gallery in Georgetown, with the SOVA group (Southern Ontario Visual Artists.) www.southernontariovisualartists.com . Our next exhibition is in June 2022, at the Assembly Hall, in Toronto, and in September we will be in Oakville. :)

Just recently I was invited to show my work at Gallery 35, by the owner, artist, John Cutruzzola. The gallery is at 35 Queen Street, west, Brampton. Very happy to show with a friend of many, many years.

At the moment, I am working on one commission, and two pieces that I plan to use for competitions , and You will find me most weekends in my studio in the Alton Mill Arts Centre. Sometimes I have company working alongside me, and she has come a long way in control of her brush :)

Hope you stop by and say hello when visiting the Alton Mill Art Centre.

Back to the easel,

Lynden
