Raced Through a Busy Summer

With September arriving , there is the thoughts of Fall arriving. Summer has been so very busy and I will try and catch you up with events. One thing that has happened is that I have been invited to be a regular contributor to the publications Picturepathway.ca and https://JustSayinCaledon.com/

Progress continues on the Violinist painting, 20 x 24 inch, oil on gallery wrap canvas. The painting on the wall is taking shape and is one of my own paintings. The under shadows on the wood paneling and bookcase have been introduced, and will gradually fade into an overall effect as a series of thin glazes of various shades are added. The features on the gentleman are becoming more pronounced, as tiny details are carefully added and the eyes and glasses are blocked in. The violin itself is now receiving some attention. This painting is at about the halfway point now I am already well past this stage and you can see more frequent updates on my instagram page.

As noted in the August edition of the wonderful Art magazine, Arabella, from time to time, you will find my work in the Niagara Falls gallery.

My first published article was in https://picturepathway.ca/fuzzy-socks/?fbclid=IwAR2k22HfRNWrqmgRpGYqL8WO8WQYw0TQiP7anEWbBhjNA72HdJwEryIqVqA

JustSayinCaledon did an editorial piece about me.

Very happy that I was one of the artists published in American Art Collector , Sept /2023 issue, in their special feature on Landscape Artists. This important art magazine is sold across Canada in multiple bookstores such as Indigo, as well as across the USA in over a thousand Barnes and Noble bookstores.

A story I wrote about a commission I did, was published by https://justsayincaledon.com/

The Artists for Conservation group (AFC) is the world's leading artist group dedicated to supporting the environment.

AFC's mission is to support wildlife and habitat conservation through art that celebrates nature.Comprising many of the world's most gifted nature artists, ( Robert Bateman, and Suzie Seerey-Lester, for example ) with membership spanning five continents and over thirty countries.

This year's juried annual show will be held at the Van Dusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver in September, and I am happy that the piece I submitted was selected for this prestigious exhibition.

Emerald Reflections is an original oil painting of Emerald Lake, British Columbia and because this was a sold commission, I only submitted for the Virtual Exhibition.

Western Art Collector is a wonderful art magazine sold across Canada in Indigo and other bookstores as well as over a thousand Barnes and Noble bookstores in the USA.

Pleased to say that I am in an editorial written by them about the Artists for Conservation exhibition.

Please note that of the ten artists they published in this special section, two of us have studios across the hall from each other, at the Alton Mill Arts Centre, 1402 Queen Street West, Alton, Ontario, myself and Margaret Sarah Pardy.

Hope you have a chance to visit both of us.

I hope you have a chance to visit me in my studio at the Alton Mill Art Centre, where I am usually painting there on weekends.

Back to the easel,

Lynden
