Rushing Through December

So now time is rushing by in December, and art life continues to be busy.

Honoured to have been selected through a heavily vetted process to be a new member of the Ontario Society of Artists.

Founded in 1872, the Ontario Society of Artists is Canada’s longest continuing art society.

OSA is a professional association for visual artists living and working across Ontario with a mandate to promote the visual arts through exhibitions, special projects and arts advocacy. Their membership roster includes many of Canada’s best-known painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers. They currently have an active membership of over two hundred artists, working in a wide range of media and from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

These are some of the artists in the studios at the Alton Mill Art Centre where my studio is. In the photo I am in the back row standing next to the artist in the plaid shirt and holding a red Christmas tree ornament.

The Circle Foundation published a video and my artwork is about the one minute 40 sec time :) Enjoy

With our SOVA group, we exhibited in the Helson Gallery at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre (Oct 16th to Dec 8th), with a well attended Opening Reception.

In October , my artwork was represented at Art Expo San Diego, a new experience for me, but the biggest news right now, is that I am Pleased to announce that I have been selected as a member of the Artists for Conservation group , which is heavily vetted. Members such as Robert Bateman and Michael Dumas also belong. They have restructured and all new members are now initially "Associate" members and they will continue to assess you over the next year or two before you reach Signature membership (used to be that if you got accepted then you just breezed into that.) I hope I prove worthy.
