Catching up!

Amazing how fast the time races by. You wouldn’t know it by the snowstorms, but apparently spring is trying to come.

The Fire and Ice Festival on January 18 at Alton Mill was a success despite a blizzard that caused a lot of people from Toronto to not come, and at the end of the day, roads were so treacherous ,that some of us, me included , ended up sleeping on the floor of our studios.

One of the other artists had made this amazing sculpture, that when all the straw, burlap and old Christmas trees burned away, showed a spectacular creation that even spun about. In the photo you can see people standing to the left, which indicates the size.

In January I became a proud member of NOAPS, North America Oil& Acrylic Painters Society.

As a member, an opportunity came up to be published in the April edition of American Art Collector, so I am excited about that .

At the moment I am also involved in the SOVA exhibition is at the Queen Elizabeth Community Centre , 2302 Bridge Road, Oakville, from Feb 29th to June 5th, 2020., and will be in the SOVA exhibition in the summer in Niagara Falls, at Steve Wilson Studios and the Gallery, July 12th to August 8th.

Have had a lot of return visitors to the studio at the Alton Mill Arts Centre (Studio 202), checking over the progress of my most recent painting. Finally finished it, titled Tobermory, and this is an oil on canvas 30 by 40 inches.

Can you spot the small animal peeking out? I always have something alive in my paintings.

Hope you get a chance to visit me in my studio.

Back to the easel,
